Click here to listen to my accompanying audio piece to this story.
Following several mass shootings in which Latinos and journalists were targeted, officials from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists insisted on heightened security presence at the 2019 conference. Listen to NAHJ members as they discuss their fears and anxieties in the aftermath of a massacre at an El Paso Walmart that left 22 people dead.
Listen to my profile on Mari Sitner, a student at Emerson College who devotes her political activism to Socialist Alternative. The national organization has a branch in Boston. Sitner led two protests against Judge Brett Kavanaugh's then-nomination to the Supreme Court, speaking to crowds of hundreds.
I loved creating these pieces. Audio journalism is challenging, fun, and intimate and I am looking forward to more opportunities to do audio stories.
