Stefania Lugli
About me
Despite the very Italian name, I am Venezuelan-American. I was born in Miami and raised in South Florida—the first American-by-birth in my family.
I am graduating from Emerson College in May 2020, with a major in Journalism and a minor in post-colonial & global studies.
While I was at Emerson, I wrote, shot photographs, and edited for the school newspaper, The Berkeley Beacon. I also wrote for the Globe section of Atlas Magazine.
I also worked as a video producer, talent, and the News Features Director for Emerson Independent Video, an Emmy-winning organization. I worked for shows PAULitics and EIVNews, and news specials analyzing the 2018 midterm elections and racism in Boston. I managed a field team of a dozen reporters as well.

Currently, I am working as The GroundTruth Project's digital intern. This is my dream internship, for I am working both with investigative journalism while also helping young career journalists find jobs in local newsrooms. This is my dream of doing work that helps people (both through storytelling and nonprofit-like work!).
After I graduate, I am open to moving wherever humanity needs to be listened to the most. Whether that remains in Boston, or off to Texas, or in Guatemala.
I aspire to work in human rights journalism, focusing on human rights violations, community healing, and environmental issues. I love research-heavy, enterprise work.
I am looking for more work in print/digital and audio journalism.
